In a first-of-its-kind approval, CARB grants Sustainable Oils a feedstock-only pathway for the production of biodiesel and renewable diesel. The pathway covers only Sustainable Oils patented seed varieties, which produced oil at a CI of 7.58 g/MJ.
ARB posted a first of its kind pathway application submitted by Sustainable Oils, a wholly owned subsidiary of leading biofuels feedstock producer Global Clean Energy Holdings. The pathway application covers camelina oil produced from any of Sustainable Oils' USTPO-registered seed varieties. The feedstock componment's carbon intensity is listed at 7.58, which can be used by processors to produce finished fuel products that range from ~18 g CO2e/MJ for renewable diesel to ~19 g co2e/MJ for biodiesel
